Lonely and Blue Beverly Kenney

From my review. This is material released before Beverly Kenney's albums. While it is not as good as the six albums she made, I still recommend it. First of all she had a sweet lovely vulnerable voice and that shows through on these recordings. My favorite numbers are Pyramid Jazz and Tall, Lean, and Lanky. She shows that she can swing and sing a ballad well. I think that given the small output Kenney put out, any unreleased recordings are treasures. She's one of my favorite artists. Her album "Come swing with me" is one of my top five albums. 3.5 rounded to 4

Mary McCaslin Old Friends

This is a good record by Mary McCaslin. It takes unexpected songs like My world is empty without you and Pinball Wizard and turns them into folk treasures. It's a good solid listen.

Take it and smile Eve

This is the second album of Honey Ltd., Lee Hazlewood's girl group only they went by Eve at this point. It's more of a gospel oriented album. I like their cover of Fred Neil's I've got a secret and Hello L.A./Bye Bye Birmingham. Unlike Honey Ltd.,this can be found reasonably priced.
