Lynn Anderson's most popular period was her Columbia Rose Garden one but I find her previous Chart material better. It's perky and fun. Songs like Promises, Promises and Ride, Ride, Ride are likable and catchy. Her mother Liz, another talented artist on her own, wrote some of the material. I love Lynn's weepers like Big Girls don't Cry. This is an out of print cd but worth looking for.

Lynn Anderson was Chart Records' most famous artist but there were a number of other artists there as well. LaWanda Lindsey was one. While only a teenager, she made this album. Although most of the songs are covers, "Swingin' and Singing my Song" does have its moments like the original song, "Wave Goodbye to the Man" and a good rendition of "There Never was a Time." This has made me curious enough to want to check out the material LaWanda did after Chart on Capitol.
