Marisa Sannia

Marisa Sannia - Marisa Sannia I love Italian divas of the 60's and the 70's like Mina and Milva. So I decided to get into more. I picked Marissa Sannia's first album. She sings a nice mixture of ballads and uptempo numbers. The ballads like Casa Blanca and Sono innamorata are good. Non a questo l'addio is really catchy. A nice addition to my Italian cd collection.

Joyce

Joyce, Naná Vasconcelos & Maurício Maestro - Visions of Dawn (Paris 1976 Project) This is an unreleased album made by Joyce. This was my first introduction to the Brazilian artist. I liked it. I'll have to get more of Joyce. It's relaxing and makes for good afternoon music.

Samantha Jones

Samantha Jones - Surrounded by a Ray of Sunshine: The UA Recordings Francoise Hardy covered two of her songs Don't Come any Closer and Just call and I'll be there. I like both versions. It's because they shared the same producer. And Suddenly, a cover of a Left Banke song is really enjoyable. Samantha Jones was an underrated British singer of the 60's. She needs to be rediscovered.

Sarolta

Sarolta Zalatnay - Szeretettel I love Sarolta Zalatnay. I adored the Finder Keepers cd of her. I'm going to own all of her albums. She was an awesome Hungarian rocker who sounded a bit like Janis Joplin. Szeretettel is a nice folk song. The others are good rock songs. Fantastic.

Kathy Kirby

Kathy Kirby - The Very Best of Kathy Kirby Kathy Kirby was a fun British singer of the 60's. She did the song Dance on for Eurovision. It's an ok song but my favorite one is Secret Love. It's 60's and melodramatic, great fun. I enjoy it more than the Doris Day version actually.

La Costa

La Costa - Changin' All The Time This is La Costa's last album made in 1980. It sounds more Crystal Gayle than La Costa but that's ok. The first number Changin' all the time and Houston are good. Someone needs to put together a collection of Tanya Tucker's sister.

Shani Wallis I'm a girl

Shani Wallis - I'm a Girl The actress from Oliver made a couple of albums. This is ok. She does really good on the upbeat numbers.

La Costa Get on my Love Train

La Costa - Get On My Love Train La Costa, Tanya Tucker's sister had a brief career in the 70's. She sounds like Tanya. This is a fun pop country album. Get on my Love Train and He took me for a ride are fun. She does a good cover of I'll have to say I love you in a song.

Turid

Turid - Tistlar Från Tundran This is her 1980 record. The RPM collection Stars and Angels I recommended earlier didn't cover her last two albums. This isn't as good as the collection but it's still worth buying. It's great folk music. Some numbers even sound country. Turid was a Swedish songbird and I found out about her on the Folk is not a four letter word collection. This is worth getting if the Stars and Angels collection made you want more.

Jody Miller Home of the Brave

Jody Miller - Home of the Brave This Jody Miller album is solid. I love the nonconformist song "Home of the Brave". My sister just says that the character of the song should get a haircut. Big Time Love is good. It also includes He hit me, a song I've never liked, but overall it's a good album.

Sweet Sue Evans

This is the only album I'm aware of from this harpist/vocalist. It's a nice mixture of folk songs and standards. This is on the Dot label. I particularly like Inchworm which Mary Hopkin did a great cover of. Back to an empty room was good too.

World Music Theatre of Jon Appleton

Jon Appleton - The World Music Theatre of Jon Appleton Good electronic music with plenty of sound samples. I like Bruce Haack the best but I am always looking for obscure electronic music. I just got into it a year ago.
