P.P. Arnold

P.P. Arnold - Angel of the Morning I first learned about P.P. Arnold from the One Kiss Can Lead to Another: Girl Group Sounds Lost and Found collection. The song they featured there is The First Cut is the Deepest. It's my favorite version of the song. P.P. Arnold was an Ikette. Ike Turner always chose excellent background singers. I love Would you Believe and Treat me like a Lady. Also Rod Stewart who also covered The First Cut is the Deepest. He did a duet with her Come home Baby. It's awesome. P.P. Arnold should be better known. She has a soulful voice. She was also the background singer in Nick Drake's Bryter Layter for Poor Boy. Some say the song is overproduced by I like it. I instantly recognized her voice.
